Who runs this
Contesora is run by one person, the one who invited you, on their own computers at home. It is invite-only and free. There is no company behind it.
What is kept, and where
Your email address, which is how you sign in; your name, as you give it; and everything you write and every picture you upload or keep here.
Your writing is stored in a database on the operator's computers at home. Your pictures are stored in Cloudflare R2, a storage service. The person who runs this site can read what is stored in both.
You sign in with Google, GitHub or Apple, or with a link emailed to you through Resend, an email service. From Google, GitHub or Apple the site asks for your email address and your name, and uses them only to sign you in and to fill in your account. You can change the name on your Account page. Cloudflare carries every request between you and the site.
There is no advertising and no tracking. Nothing about you is sold or shared with anyone for any other purpose. The only cookie the site sets keeps you signed in.
Who can see your work
You, and the people you add to a universe. Nobody else signed in to the site can see your universes, your writing or your pictures.
Artificial intelligence
This site holds no AI accounts or keys, and sends nothing to an AI service itself.
You can connect your own AI agent, such as Claude Code on your own computer, from your Account page. Then a request you make in a universe goes to your agent with the parts of that universe it needs to answer, which can include what other people in that universe wrote. Your agent handles it under its own terms, which you agreed to with its maker.
In the same way, when someone you share a universe with makes a request there, it goes to their agent, and that can include what you wrote in that universe. Nothing goes to an agent if the person asking has not connected one.
Copies
The database is copied every night. The copies are kept on the operator's computers for seven days and in the operator's cloud backup storage.
Pictures are kept in Cloudflare R2 only, with no copy anywhere else, so keep your own copies of anything that matters to you.
You can download a copy of any of your universes, with its writing and pictures, from your Account page at any time.
Deleting your account
From your Account page. It deletes every universe you own, for everyone in it, removes you from the rest, and deletes your account.
It does not reach the nightly copies until they are cleared, or copies other people made. To stop being able to sign in at all, ask the person who invited you to take your address off the invite list.
Changes
If anything here changes, you will see the new notice and be asked again before you carry on.
